Clomid and Ovulation Timing? Newbie!!

Hi everyone, I'm on my first round of Clomid (100 mg). I took from cycle days 3-7 after initiating a quasi period (mostly old blood) with Prometrium. How long does it typically take to ovulate with Clomid. I went in for my day 14 u/s Thursday and had 4 follicles ranging from 11 to 24. I opted not to take the Ovidrel and see if I can do it with Clomid only. I'm on day 16 and still no positive OPK. Am I out of luck this cycle or is their still hope?

we cannot tell you when you ovulate. your only option is to keep using OPKs. Try testing with not only FMU but again midday and toward the end of the night. Hold your pee for 3-4 hours before testing if you test during the day/at night.

And FWIW that is why people use the trigger (Ovidrel) so they know when they ovulate. GL to you.

I ovulate normally with clomid around cd18-19, but once not until cd26, so you aren't out yet. I never had a trigger myself, but I know a lot of ladies do, so that may be an option if still nothing on Monday.

Well, yes, clearly I know you can't tell me when I ovulate I was just looking for other peoples experiences on if they ovulate much past day 14 on Clomid. I chose not to do the Ovidrel because it is only my first cycle and frankly I'm a little scared of multiples. I could have potentially released 4 or 5 mature follicles. I'll do the Ovidrel if no sucess after 3 rounds of Clomid (my personal choice).

When I have ovulated, it has been on days 14, 17 and even 21.  I have also not ovulated while taking 100mg of clomid.  Keep testing with opks and good luck.

I've only done one round of Clomid but my experience was I O'd much later than I normally do. I usually O around day 15 & I didn't O this last cycle until day 21! So - keep doing your OPK tests and good luck to you!

I Oed on day 16, which is common for me. For future cycles, you could consider BBT charting. I don't know that Clomid will mess up your temps--it didn't for me the cycle that I just took it. For the Clomid/Ovidrel/Prometrium cycles coming up, I will not temp.

This was my first cycle on clomid and I o'ed on CD17.

24 mm is a large follicle. I'm surprised you haven't o'ed already with a follicle that size. I o'ed with a 21 mm follie.

I'm also on my first clomid cycle (100mg cd3-7). I'm on cd23 and still not sure if I O'ed. I had the darkest OPK I've seen yet yesterday, but I can't confidently call it a positive. I do monitor with bbt too, and did see a slight temp rise, so I'm still just waiting to see what happens. I had my b/w for progesterone Friday, and will do it again in a week in case I did just O late. Good luck!

Yes, you are still in the game! Keep testing. I say splurge and go for the digital ovulation kits. After 14 cycles of TTC thus far, I am sick of going cross-eyed trying to decipher if it's positive or not. Digitals take away that stressor.

I just finished Round 3 of Clomid. I will start OPKing tomorrow. My first round was 50mg taken on CD 5-9. As far as I know, I THINK I O'd (when I was still using regular O kits). Round 2 I took 100mg on CD 5-9 and got a positive digital OPK on CD 19. This round 3, I took it on CD 3-7 in hopes it'll make me ovulate earlier. Without Clomid, I would get positive OPKs on CD 14, 15, and 16.

So we'll see. Happy baby thoughts!

Thanks everyone for your feedback and good luck to all of you as well. It's now CD17 and nothing.... I have to call my RE's nurse tomorrow and tell her I didn't do the Ovidrel. I'll see what she says.  This is only my first cycle and frankly, my body hasn't done much of anything on it's own for the past 7 years. So we shall see.
