How do I write a thank you note for a gift card?

I'm drawing a blank on how to compose my thank you notes for some gift cards I received from co-workers.  Suggestions?  Thanks!

er... wouldn't "thank you for the GC, can't wait to go shopping" do?

"Thank you so much for your generous baby gift.  It will be very helpful in getting us ready for the baby...." Or something along those lines!

I try to write things I would use it toward. Like "Thank you so much for the Babies R Us giftcard. We can't wait to use it toward decorating the baby's room." Or even, "It's really gonna come in handy with all the things we will need for the baby." Something like that.

I would just say...

Thank you very much for the gift card. I think I will use it in when I need to get x,y,z (depending on where it is for)

 My co-worker got me a Toys R Us gift card for example and I said :

I really appreciate the gift card. Myles and I are going to Toys R Us this weekend and Im going to let him help me pick out something for the baby with it. Im sure it will be fun! Thanks again.

I usually go with something like, "Thank you so much for the generous gift card! It is really going to help us out as we purchase X for baby/we're looking forward to using it for X and Y for our little one's room/it's going to come in handy when the baby arrives and needs X, Y and Z. We really appreciate your kindness to us!"

I try to give some idea of something it's going to be, or at least could be, used for.

Thanks for the gift card. I'm so excited to put it to use/ can't wait to use it on X. We really appreciate your generosity as we prepare for the arrival of our little one.
