3-hour glucose test

I am doing this on Tues.  My veins are little, so I hate getting my blood drawn.  My vein is still bruised from getting my blood drawn for the 1-hour test this past Tues.  I have a (dumb) question.  For the 3-hour test, will the nurse stick me 4 separate times or stick me once and keep the needle in my vein?

I got stuck 4 separate times.  She alternated arms each time and actually ended up sticking me further down on my forearm, which was less painful.  I have horrible veins too, and I was worried about being dehydrated but it wasn't too bad.  Good luck to you!

Mine was just a finger prick.  Should be all they need I thought?

1 finger prick, 3 arm blood draws.  She did rotate arms each time.

i got stuck 5 times! 1 on one arm that was so deep that they couldnt use it again so the other 4 were on the same arm- i have bad veins too (really small) so i was very black and blue. The tech felt so bad- but i was just like- "eh, just do it!" you'll be fine- even if you are all back and blue!
