High-Risk Pregnancy

*Peeking In* New semi-bedrest-momma with PIH

Hey ladies.. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about posting over here, but I've had several fantastic bumpies from 3rd tri encourage me to do so, so here I am.

Basically, I just got home from a fantabulous 3 day hospital vacation for PIH, and now am on modified bedrest at home and have to go in every 3 days to get my pressures taken, urine checked, and other assorted goodies. My ticker (and official EDD) read that I'm 32 weeks today, but according to a growth ultrasound we had Thursday, the Hitchhiker is measuring at 34 to 35 weeks.

Anyway, I had 4 rounds of steroids to help the HH's lungs this weekend, and my OB suspects delivery in anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks, so here's hoping we can hold out as long as possible.

I know I'm nowhere near as "high risk" as a lot of you ladies probably are, so I feel sort of silly posting on this board, and I want to make it known that I mean absolutely no disrespect to any of you. Hopefully during these next few weeks I'll be able to offer you all some support and we can get through all the scary/depressing/cruddy stuff together. :)

  • I've been lurking over on 3rd tri and I've been keeping up with you.  I'm glad you finally got to go home.  Welcome to the high risk board.  The daily Bed Rest mamas check-in has been great since I was put on bed rest a few weeks ago (for similar issues as you're having).  Everyone seems very supportive over here.

  • I too lurk over on 3rd tri (I dont post very often cuz I find I have a hard time relating since my pregnancy is far from the norm...) but anywho, glad you are home and that things are going a little better! The bed rest mamas check-in is great--it doesnt matter what your high-risk/bed rest reason is- it stinks either way! Everyone is really supportive over here so hopefully you can find some good friends--heres to a few more weeks of the HH cookin!

  • Thanks ladies! I just didn't want to overstep my bounds. I realize a lot of ladies on here are in really serious danger and I'd hate to trivialize that.

  • Don't worry..... PIH IS dangerous, even if its manageable in mild cases.  Don't discount the danger (for both you and HH) of what you're going through.  And like Lauren said, the check in is for all of us on bed rest, because no matter what the reason, br is pretty sucky and it takes an emotional toll Smile
  • Glad to see you made it home Annie!  I just posted on 3rd tri looking for an update then came dancing over here to see this!  You are more than welcome on the bedrest board and you aren't going to offend anyone!  I think we are all just happy to have ANYONE to talk to!. :-)  It doesn't matter what the situation is, if you are on for 2 days or 10wks, it still sucks and we all like to get together to b*tch, give support, advice or just chat.  Welcome!
  • Hi! I am not on bed rest yet but I have also been having bp issues with orders to be in bed as much as possible, Also went to the hospital on Wed. for observation.  I have to go to the dr 2 times per week also now for bpp/nst tests and my dr also thinks I will go early.

It can be so scary! and it really makes you realize what is important in life.

    Good luck with everything!
