Joovy sit n stand stroller, anyone?

Anyone have a Joovy double stroller like the sit n stand? Like this one - https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2267617

My BRU did not have it in the store to look at. The other sit n stand brand will not hold our infant carrier, a Chicco. Anyone know if the Joovy will?

Tell me what you think of your Joovy sit n stand. My sons will be just shy of 3 years apart. I like the idea of my older one standing or sitting. I think he'll like that. But I want something that will fit the infant carrier when the baby is little. There is also a lightweight version of the one I posted the link to, but it is more than double the price!

  • We have the ultralite one and really like it.  It has an attachment for the infant seat and then you basically buckle it in (not sure how to describe it).  Either way, we tried it out with DS's graco snugride and it seemed like it would work really well with any seat.  It was really sturdy and everything from what we can tell.  (As you can probably tell, we haven't actually tried it yet with the infant seat with DS since he's brand new, but it looked good.)  The girls have loved it so far.  We can have both of them squish on the sit/stand side for short bits - like to get us through a parking lot or out of the mall in a crisis.  Both the girls prefer to walk 90% of the time so it should work really well.
  • basically ditto Ciarrai---I would think it'd work for most any infant seat since it rests in a cradle position & then belts in.  I have a Peg Perego & it worked for that.  It is sturdy--the jump seat isn't very roomy or comfy but it works well for occasional rest for the older kid.  At 3 my kids certainly walked most of the time anyway--so it was fine.

  • Oops! Wrong link to the olive kids bedding one. I'll change it.

So is the ultra light version worth $250? I like the idea of this one for $120. Especially since a neighbor has offered me her side by side stroller (which does not recline, so the baby can't go in it till he's 6-8 months old.

And since my older son is going to be almost 3 by the time the baby is born, we were considering just not getting a double stroller. He can walk beside me most places or when the baby is small, I could hold him in the baby bjorn and Nathan can use the stroller. I mean, I barely use a stroller for him anymore anyway - he walks or rides on daddy's shoulders. Only time we use it is the few times I go to the mall or we go to outdoor, crowded events, which my city has a lot of.

  • I have that exact one.  I love it.  And there is an attachment for an infant carrier, but I didn't get the stroller until my DS was almost 1 & so I never used the attachment so I'm not sure how the Graco fits on it.  But this stroller steers really well, plenty of room for both kids and good storage space underneath.  I would def recommend it.   Oh, and I bought mine new on ebay.
  • I got mine on sale at albeebaby for about $200, I think or maybe even less.  I had the double stroller when the girls were little since DD#1 is only 20 months older than DD#2, but even then we didn't use it for more than maybe 6 months to a year except for specific trips like the zoo or something.  Even then, neither of the girls ride in it all that often so I just got rid of it.  I actually got rid of that and my single stroller and just have the joovy and an umbrella stroller.  I figured even if I went somewhere I wanted a stroller with just DS, I still could use the joovy and I keep that in the van anyway so it seemed silly to keep all the strollers.
  • I have that one and really like it.  It will work with the Chicco infant seat.  I ordered mine from Albeebaby when they had a sale.  I would have liked the ultralight one, but it really isn't hat heavy.

  • Love it. My girls are 2 years and 3 months apart. It works great. Its good to push and both girls love it. I love that it works for an infant carrier in the beginning. (We just stopped using that part- DD is 9 months old).

Two things that are a bit frustrating are:

    1. The basket on the bottom is so tiny. You can fit a diaper bag in it and thats about it.

    2. There are no cup holders or anything for the Mama!

  • p.s. Check out Craigslist. We bought ours on there--it was used, but looked brand new-- for sixty bucks!  Thats right- just 60 bucks!!!
  • I have the ultralite and love it! I never used the infant seat part because my daughter was a bit older when I bought it.

I was going to buy it from Albee baby like I do most of my carseats/strollers but last minute I googled it and found a place with free shipping, and it threw in a parent organizer/cup holder (which I LOVE) and an extra pad for the front seat (which isn't worth the $ if you were going to buy it seperate). I can't remember what the place was called but it's definately worth a search!

  • Check ebay.  I bought mine brand new for a lot less than $250.  I have the ultralight and really like it.
