Hi girls:
I know that this board gets tons of questions about double strollers, You guys are great a help:
I am looking for a double stroller that allows me to snap an infant car seat in the back while the toddler sit in the front?
or one side by side that allows me to snap a infant car seat in one of the seats? That way I don't have to be transferring the LO form one place to another whenever we go out.
Does such stroller exits or am i just dreaming? I have tried a few strollers and none of them have this option?
when the LO arrives in March, DS will be 2 years and a few weeks, he is just too active and i don't thin he is ready to stand on a stroller yet.....on the other hand I want him to be entretairned while we are out and about hence the purpose of him riding facing the front LOL
LInks are appreciated
Thank you in advance for your input and have a nice weekend
Re: I have a ???? about ouble strollers....
One thing I found with 2U2 is that carseat-stroller compatibility was nowhere near as important with #2 as it was with #1.
I have the P&T sport and almost bought the adapter, remembering how convenient and easy it was to be able to go from carseat to stroller. But I found that I really didn't need it. Sure there have been a few times when it would have been nice, but not enough to make a difference in my stroller purchase
You already have to take one kid out of a carseat and buckle him into a stroller when going somewhere, one more isn't a big deal. I mean, there is really no such thing as "quick errands" with 2U2.
With one LO, it was great because you didn't have to disturb them if they were sleeping by taking them out of a carseat into a stroller. But now, I want DD to be awake when DS is - so hopefully they nap at the same time and I get some "me" time. It works! Now she'll fall asleep in the car on the way home and once we get home, DS takes his nap. So I usually get a good 2 hours where they are both napping
Obviously my system isn't going to work for everyone, but I it's something to think about. GL!
DS 3.12.08
DD 7.11.09
DD 8.01.13
in my preliminary research (never actually tried and don't know how good they are), the Joovy Caboose Ergo allows this. The Baby Trend Sit n Stand Double (and maybe deluxe) allow this. I think all the Graco doubles do this.
As for side by sides, the Peg Aria Twin 60/40 does this, as well. I'm just now looking into the side by sides.
Hope someone has some more info for you. Sorry I'm just starting, too!
From what I've seen (and I've looked a lot) the only tandem that lets you put a carseat in back and a toddler up front in a seat is the Joovy Ergo Caboose. There is a chance that the Sit and Stand Double Deluxe does this but I think if it does the seat up front cannot recline at all so toddler is stuck in a full upright position all the time. The bonus to the Ergo Caboose is that it also then can be used as a sit and stand when the baby is old enough to go into the seat and your toddler is old enough to sit/stand. But it is expensive and heavier/bulkier than most sit/stand combos.
The Bob Duallie, Bumbleride Indie, some of the Baby Jogger City series doubles, I think maybe the P&T and a few others will allow a carseat to be attached while a toddler sits in another seat but they are full size strollers not sit and stands, although the P&T is at least a tandem not a side by side. I think the Uppababy Vista with Rumbleseat might do that as well - but check the weight requirements. They weren't feasible for me, my older son would grow out of the rumbleseats too quickly.
Oh and the Valco doubles should also take car seats....
The Uppa Baby Vista also takes an infant seat in the back (closest to mom) and if you add the Rumbleseat - your toddler can sit in the front. But the toddler will be facing backwards in the Rumbleseat.
Like others said, the Joovy Ergo Caboose can also take an infant car seat in the back but it is a very long stroller.
