Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller

This looks really cool!  Any other 2nd-time moms have input on double strollers?  My DH has been doing most of our research & it seems most people use side-by-sides, not tandems (in-line).  This one looks like a single stroller base, but stacked higher.

Re: Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller

  • I'm having a hard time deciding b/t that, the Phil and Teds and Uppa Baby.  They all do the removable extra seat thing, but I think the Baby Jogger is the only one that can do an infant carseat.  I'm probably going to go with one of these rather than the tandem b/c I don't see myself needing the double forever as DD is going to be 2 1/2 when DD2 gets here and I don't have a jogger already.

  • We got the Baby Jogger Elite because after you add in all the costs of the select it gets really expensive.  Most of my friends have the city mini double and they LOVE it!
  • I have never lusted over a baby product and I do over this stroller.  I test drove it the other week.  It is great.  It is one of the lightest tandems I have tried.  I really like that the infant carrier is in the back by you instead of the front.  I know you can buy an attachment so the chicco seat works, but not sure about any other infant seats.

  • I thought for sure we'd get the BJCMD, but then I saw this select, and welllllll...I may change my mind.  I like the inline aspect of it, w/o the feeling of one child being completely beneath the other like some of the other inline doubles out there.  I also was going to supplement the BJCMD in the first couple months with something like a snap-n-go type double (joovy caboose?) when the newborn is predominantly in his/her carseat.  BUT, when you add the price of the snap-n-go and the double together, it's just about the same price as the Select.  I've got a little while to figure it out; I'd like to test one out in person first.

Where did you find it to test? I don't think it's anywhere near me, but I'm hoping it comes soon. I am pretty sure we will be getting it, but I'd still like to see it first.

  • USA baby.  I think REI has it also.

Ooh, that would be great if REI has it. We don't have a USA Baby here. Thanks!

  • I've also heard that Buy Buy Baby has them to test as well, although I haven't been yet, so I can't personally attest...
  • This is the stroller we are getting. We have been looking for strollers and I really want a tandem and not a SBS. This is perfect!

  • The Baby Jogger City Select is a really versatile stroller that can be a single or a double (with the additional accessories)!  I did a full review with a video review of this stroller that will give you an inside look at the stroller.

    https://www.babygizmo.com/news/babyjoggercityselect.php

I know people are concerned about the seat size but I was able to put a 6 month old, 3 year old and a 5 year old in the seat comfortably!  The maneuverability is very good for a full size double!  In singles mode, the stroller is very, very easy to push.  It takes a bit more effort with 2 kids aboard but still waaaayyyy better than many other strollers.

I have to say that my favorite thing about the City Select is the over 16 different seating options!  My 3 year old isn't crazy about sitting in a stroller many times but when I switch up the seats - he thinks it is fun and hops right in.

Oh yeah...someone said that they were deciding between the Phil & Ted, Uppa, and the City Select but they thought that the City Select was the only to take an infant car seat.  The Uppa definitely takes a car seat as well.

The video review is also on YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdeMgSm-xe0

    Hope this helps!
