Postpartum Depression

Your body after LO..

Is anyone feeling like they will never look the same after having LO?? I got sad and depressed today looking in the mirror.. My belly is all flabby and my boobs are down to my knees...  I keep asking DH if he will ever find me sexy again..lol of course he says he does...  but I just dont feel good about myself :(

Just needed to vent..thanks

  • It sucks, doesn't it?

FWIW, your precious daughter is still really new and your body is still changing.  While it may not be exactly the way it was pre-pregnancy, it will get better!  And listen to your husband, he sounds like a good man!

  • Your body may or may not go back to how it was, but 2w is too soon to think it'll be right back to normal.  My boobs have ventured south a bit, but my DH doesn't seem to care (he loves all boobs, doesn't matter if they're big or small, high or low), but I do plan to have them lifted when I'm finished nursing.  I did WW after my first was born and ended up about 15 pounds lower than my pre-pg weight and was a size or two smaller, this time it hasn't been so easy yet.  IMO do something to make yourself feel better, I feel so much better about myself when I fix my hair and put on makeup, especially with my post-pg body right now.

this! You are not even 3w pp yet, give your body some time. I don't think it will ever be the same as before but after 5m I'm feeling a lot better about it. I can't say I'm ready for the bikini, haven't worked out in 3 months, but my clothes fit fine and I'm almost a pound below my pre-pg weight. Give it time and if you can, work out! It will boost your confidence AND your energy.

  • Give yourself a little time. I felt MUCH better about my body after 6wks postpartum. My belly is starting to firm up and I have even lost some pre-preg weight, weighing less than I did when I got married!

  • It has taken me 10 months to feel 'normal' again-- but I still don't fit most of my pre-pregnancy clothes.  My shape is different.  I feel that I am still adjusting to this new 'me'.  My stretch marks are fading nicely though...
  • This is not meant to be snarky, but you are only 3 weeks pp.  Give it some time.
