I have to do the BPP 2 times per week and if LO doesn't do all the movements on the BPP then we do an NST. I just started these this week and have to keep doing them until birth.
So, far LO hasn't practiced breathing long enough on the BPP so, I have had to do the NST. Luckily we passed the NST today!
My dr is having me do these d/t hbp issues. Anyone else doing these? I am trying not to stress about them but LO not doing the breathing on 2 of them has me stressed.
Re: Anyone else doing weekly or biweekly BPP or NST?
We have the same due date!
I have a BPP scheduled for Monday. I'm not sure whether this will turn into a recurring thing or not, because my sugars have been diet-controlled and on the low side. At my most recent growth u/s LO did a fair amount of practice breathing, so they didn't schedule anything else until this coming Monday. I guess we'll play it by ear and see if further monitoring is warrented.
I've had biweekly NSTs since 35 weeks b/c of HBP. Good luck! It's actually a relief to know twice a week that the baby's doing great!
I've had a weekly US where doc checks LO's breathing and weekly NSTs. So far, so good. I'll be induced tomorrow, so I guess we've passed with flying colors.
I hear you about the tests being stressful though...they stressed me out too. I found that eating just before I went in and drinking ice water during it helped the baby be more active...you might try that as well.
