31 week appointment

Baby A is weighing in at 3lb 15 oz. and Baby B is 4lb 7 oz.  My doctor was not concerned about the difference in their weights, which is good.  The good news is Baby B has flipped, and is now vertex like his brother, so as long as they stay put, it looks like we will be having a vaginal delivery.  I always just sort of thought I'd have a c-section, so I am still getting used to this idea!

My doctor didn't check my cervix at all.  She said she doesn't usually check this late unless symptoms warrant it.  I'm pretty asymptomatic, so she didn't see a need.

Next week I start weekly NSTs.  Is this typical?  Always curious to hear what others are experiencing and if this all sounds normal!

I don't know if it's normal since I"m not there yet, but glad things are looking good!

That all sounds great!

I started NSTs at 31 weeks, but that was only because I had an issue they wanted to monitor.  But 32 weeks is the norm.  Enjoy them!  I find them to be so relaxing, and such a special time to spend with your babies.

I also stopped cervix checks at 31 weeks, but had one today because I have been having pressure down there.  But it sounds like everything is perfect with your babies!

My OB did manual cervix checks at every appointment, but I think that's just her being cautious.  If I hadn't of gotten admitted for PTL, I would have started NST's at 32w as well.  Sounds normal to me!

Oh, I guess I should add that my doctor said that if Baby B is bigger than A, they'll likely do a c-section rather than a vaginal.  Unless I mixed up my weights with the babies (which is totally possible!), Baby B is bigger and so we might still end up going the c-section route even if both are head down. I forgot about that.  But I suppose their weights change, too, like their positions, so we'll have to wait and see.

My babies both have their heads down, and B is bigger than A.  But because of that and the identical/sharing a placenta thing, I am opting for a c/s.  But I hope you get to have the vaginal birth that you want!

Well, I am not sure that I quite have my head wrapped around wanting a vaginal birth, but some people seem to be telling me I should be!  Like I said, I always just imagined a c-section for one reason or another.  So we will see!  How big are your babies now, Kimarino?

Last week Baby A was 5 lbs 2 oz and Baby B was 5 lbs 10 oz, so we'll see!  Today he did a quick measurement of their bellies and it seems that Baby B is still ahead of her sister.

Great baby weights, yay for good appointments!  My Peri does not do cervix checks at all, he said it can actually cause ptl to disturb it.  They do measure it via u/s at growth scans.  So far I start NST at 32 weeks unless something changes before then.  You are in the home stretch, hooray!
