High-Risk Pregnancy

Pain down there...anyone else?

Hello I am almost 23 wks and have been placed High Risk for a Probable Bicornuate Uterus. The past few days ive been experiencing pain that kinda shoots from my lower abdominal to my vagina. Does anyone else experience this or have? I just went to do a urine test and it came out negative but the culture won't be ready till Monday. I keep telling myself its because the baby is laying right ontop of my bladder but I don't know. The nurses say its probably stretching. It comes and goes. If I keep feeling it, to L&D I will go. I just wanted to know if anyone is feeling somewhat what I am.

Thanks...

  • I called the doctor 2 weeks ago b/c it hurt to stand up move in any direction. I couldn't tell if it was urethral or cervical pain so they had me come in the measure my cervical length b/c I had my DD at 34 weeks for unexplained reasons. It was fine however. 5cm. They dont' know what it was from but I just drank a lot of water and the next day it was gone. Could have just been stretching.

  • EJH, see thats my scare right now is the whole cervix issue. This being my first real pregnancy (i miscarried in 2008 at 12wks with no diagnoses to why) I am a lil worried about the cervix. I've heard of an incompetent cervix from many people.  If i feel this tomorrow im going into L&D so they can check my cervix. The last time it was checked was at my 1st OB at 5wks.

  • I have this as well and I have IC and a cerclage. I was worried, called my doc and was checked and my cervix was fine.

For me, it is pubic symphysis disorder. Basically all the ligaments around my pelvis are stretching and causing a lot of pain. It is more common in loose jointed (hypermobile) people can happen in the course of pregnancy.

I am currently receiving physical therapy and wearing belts to help hold it all together. The relief is amazing.

  • butterfly-I hope all is well with you, please post if they find something out.

wingedbird- that is so interesting that this is more common in loose jointed people. That is the case with me. I also get cramps in my hands during pregnancy and my thumbs kind of pop out of the socket. It is so weird. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I had never thought about it. But they basically said, since our joints are already loose that the restalin hormone makes us overly loose.
