  • notimeforflashcards is a great blog (the actual webpage will come up if you google that. I can't remember if it's a .com?)

DD loves to play in her kitchen and make me food. She loves playdough right now, and coloring w/ markers. Crafts with stickers, reading, playing dress-up, Mr Potato Head is a huge hit!, dance party (we turn the music up, dance or techno, and dance around the room. DD could do this for hours! If DD2 happens to be awake, I wear her and we continue :)

  • I have one drawer that isn't locked in my kitchen, and I have it filled with sippy cups and plastic ware.  DS LOVES to empty the drawer, deposit everything around the kitchen and refill it (sometimes, sometimes I do the refilling).  This is usually while I'm cooking, working in the kitchen.

Otherwise, his favorite activity is chasing and tormenting the dogs.

We do have toys, mind you.  He is not really interested in any particular toy for more than 5 or 10 minutes at a time.

He doesn't really watch tv, but wants to have music on at all times.

Other times, he loves to climb on things (couch, chairs, etc).  Usually I have to stay close to him when he's in a climbing mood so he doesn't end  up at the ER!

He makes play out of thin air!

  • I let DS keep a ride on toy in the house. He can have one at a time and it usually lasts about 3 weeks then he'll ask for something different. We have a "scoop" from Bob the Builder, a rocking fish and a plastic trike.

We also love playing play-doh, dancing, building forts with blankets and reading. He does watch TV. Another thing I'll do sometimes is set out a large plastic bin lid on the tile floor and put bowls of water out for him with his water proof toys to play. It makes a big wet mess but he loves it.
