need help broiling chicken

So we are cooking chicken on the oven (can't BBQ..snow) and then once cooked we coat it in this awesome BBQ sauce and put it in the broiler. How long would you broil the chicken? I think we did 15 minutes last time but it still didnt' get very crispy. Any advice?... I'm def no cook so anything is helpful.

Re: need help broiling chicken

  • We usually broil 10 minutes on each side.

Edit to say we usually use chicken breasts.

  • Not sure what cut you are using but you could season you chx with a rub marinade whatever, start it in the oven on high heat (like 450-500) to brown and crisp the skin and keep it juicy then lower the heat and cook through. That's how we do turkey and whole birds. If you are just using skinless boobs than I am no help.
  • I usually just bake the chicken breasts IN the sauce from the beginning.  I bake at 350 degrees for one hour (30 minutes each side).  Turns out VERY juicy - not crispy though.  I have never broiled chicken.  Sorry, I'm no help!
