DH told me the other day that he really likes the name and if our next baby is a girl, he wants to name her Vivian. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but he told his dad and his dad said that if we name our second daughter that, we'll have two little girls with old lady names. I just about peed my pants when DH told me this! I kinda knew DD's name was old lady-ish (Lydia) but I didn't even think that of Vivian until DH said that. )
Anyway, Vivian sounds kinda nice. It's starting to grow on me. I've been saying it outloud a lot the last couple of days. Go on, say it outloud and see what ya think. )
Re: When you hear the name Vivian, do you think "old lady"?
I really like Vivian and I don't think it's old-lady sounding at all. All those names have been making such a comeback that I wouldn't blink to meet a baby Vivian (and the nickname Vivi is adorable).
It is a wee bit rhymey with Lydia, but I think they match very nicely as sister names (I love your DD's name, by the way).
Aw, thanks! My brother knew a kid in elementary school and his mom's name was Lydia and I've always loved it. When I told DH the name, he loved it immediately too.

Me too!
All the old lady names are popular now - Sophie, Sadie, Emma...
I like Vivian and it has great nicknames if you're into nicknames - Viv or Vivvie...
No, not at all.
There's a girl at work called Vivian and she's really nice and not "old lady" at all.
haha I totally thought this as soon as I saw the post title.
