Has anyone been to them? DH and I have only been trying for 7 months, but my gyno says she believes it's warranted for me to get a fertility work-up now instead of waiting until the 12 month mark. This is the fertility clinic she would like to refer me to. Has anyone been? Have any opinions about them? Or can you recommend a fertility specialist around the Towson area? My gyno is from Cecil County, where I used to live, so she doesn't have any reccomendations for down this way. TIA!

Re: Shady Grove Fertility?
Shady Grove is an absolutely wonderful facility. We go to the one in Columbia and have visited a few others for different tests; and I've never had anything but great things to say. We asked around a lot too before going; and I've honestly never heard anything but great things about them from anyone.
I missed it - but I think they were actually featured in a recent Dr. Oz show on infertility.

They were, I watched it. It was really minimal though. They had a couple on there that the man had low motility (I think) and everything was fine with the woman. So Shady Grove had one of their doctors on the show and they are giving the couple free fertility treatments. I thought they were going to talk a little more, but it was only maybe 5 minutes of the show.
Thank you for letting me know they've been great. I have really bad luck selecting doctors, and this is one I really don't want to botch.
I love SGFC! I see Dr. Katz at the GBMC location. They also have a Bel Air location now where they can do testing, monitoring, etc. They might even do IUIs now, I am not sure. I have been there a few times and it is really nice. I have also seen Dr. Yazigi (not sure how to spell his name) and he is really nice. He is not as warm & fuzzy for some of the monitoring appointments, though.
I used to go to the Fertility Center of MD and I didn't like the RE I was seeing there, but I have heard great things about one of the other REs. I think that the FCoM is a little more personal than SGFC b/c it is a little smaller...
My DS is a result of IVF w/ ICSI from SGFC & Dr. Katz, so obviously we are pretty pleased with our results.
Good luck! I hope that you get some good answers as I know that dealing with IF is very painful and heartwrenching.
Shady Grove is the best! The doctors, nurses and support team are professional and personal. Through this very trying time, everyone was so great at explaining what was going on and keeping my spirits up.
I was lucky enough to have a successful IVF cycle (after many TI flops). At my last appointment at Shady Grove, all the doctors and nurses stopped by to say good bye. I was excited to be moving on, but was overcome with emotion.
I would highly recommend Shady Grove to anyone.
Good luck!
I went to SGFC at GBMC. I went through IVF w/ ICSI. I have seen all the doctors there and they are great. The nurses are just the same. They are very informative and take every precaution with you. They are very supportive, in the beginning we had a really bad scare. My test reults were very low, to the point of possible forced miscarriage, but they were very optimistic and now i am 32 weeks. Before they release you to your own doctor (obgyn), they make sure everything is ok as far as heartbeat and developement. My doctor was Dr. Katz but Dr. Yazigi did my retrieval and transfer, Tina Yingling was my nurse and like i said before, they are great. We will be going there again when we are ready to bring another life into this world. GL!!!!
Thanks for posting this. I was actually coming to ask about Shady Grove too. Glad to hear most have had a good experiences.
To the previous poster that found the doctors to be negative-which location did you go to? I heard one other negative piece of info about one of the doctors @ SG and if your experience was with the same doc, I may try to avoid that dr.
