So my doctor thinks I am just plain crazy because she said it shouldn't be PPD because I am on the pill and "birth control should have fixed that."  Really birth control is the magical fix for PPD.  I have never heard of this before.  I think she is just plain crazy!!

I'm sorry that you are feeling the way you are and that your doctor is not taking you seriously.

In my experience, birth control pills are often used to treat depression.  The first time my depression presented itself was when I went off of them for the first time in five years. 

That said, your doctor is being very insensitive and crappy.  Is this your primary care doc or OB?  I would call whoever its not.  Hopefully, the other doctor will listen and take better care of you.  Don't give up, keep asking for help.  Take care...

Back when I was on BCP, I felt depressed.  Even if they are used to treat depression, they don't have to work for everyone.  If they aren't working to relieve your symptoms of depression, other treatment options need to be explored, plain and simple.  Your doctor seems very ignorant for making that statement.  Find a new doctor to talk to, stat!  Good luck to you, and I hope you find what you need to start feeling better, soon!

Wow that's ignorant.  If this is your OB I'd be thinking about seeing someone else. 

You aren't crazy and if you think there's a problem trust your instincts.

Lol, the only thing birth control fixed for me is I don't have to worry about getting pregnant again while I am still learning how to cope with my first little bundle of joy I agree find a new doctor who will take your depression seriously because it can be a serious proplem
