Single Parents

I love it when I am right.

As we all know it is tax season and with me still being legally married to stbx, I asked him at the beginning of this month what we were going to do about taxes.(file jointly or separate).  He refused the possibility of us filing jointly.  I told him that it would be in our best interests to file together and split the money (per a stipulation ordered in court) because he would get next to nothing back since I get to claim the girls as well as my schooling and new home owners credit.  He was overseas for 7 months last year as well so our combined family income is low enough to help me significantly with my financial aid for school but high enough to qualify for EIC.  I had spoke to my lawyer about us filing jointly and she spoke to his lawyer about it last week.  He has yelled at me at least 4 times about taxes and his reasoning for not wanting to file with me?  We arent together anymore and he is already getting back his PG FI's bonus.  Well he called me this morning and was like I just found out I have to file with you because we are still married.  I laughed at him and said oh really?  I called my lawyer right after to set up the stipulation and she told me that his laywer had called and told him he was being stupid not to file with me. (my lawyer and his lawyer are very good friends)

So here's to an additional almost $4000 I wasnt expecting this year!!!

  • Your ex is a douche.  Isn't he the guy that knocked up an under age girl?  Thank God you got rid of him!

Oh, and it's awesome to be right!!  Yes

OMG are you serious?? What a jack*ss.

That's freaking hilarious btw! Don't you love it when you're right??

  • He cheated on me with an underage girl (she was 16) but didnt get her PG until she was 18.  He will be 27 next week Indifferent.  Yes, I am so glad I got rid of the DB.  He know is trying to control when we file the taxes.  His point is that I always get to control everything... mm yeah right.  I really controlled your penis and put it in another girl's vagina. LOL

I'm glad you got rid of him! Out of curiosity, exactly how much custody did he get after that got brought up in court? What a d!ck!

  • The highest percentage of custody he has ever had was roughly 24%.  But to be honest, the courts didnt really care about it because there were no charges pressed against him.  He would have been in more trouble if the military pursued the matter.  He has never been overly involved anyway.  He has roughly 14 nonconsecutive days of visitation a year.  I am not so concerned with it now but how am I supposed to explain to my girls that it is completely INAPPROPRIATE for a 16 year old to date a 25 year old man?  I am definately not looking forward to the teenage years:(
