Honestly, I think she knew a long time ago exactly what he is. No that it makes anything easier, and his behavior is disgusting, but I think she is being painted as some kind of saint when she isn't. I think there should be some special kind of hell for men who cheat on their dying wives though.

He admitted it this morning on the Today Show. He's a POS. Maybe he should date my dh's ex. They are both serial cheaters. I think people like that deserve each other.

I have heard this, too, and would totally be on board w/ disliking her for it all, too.  BUT, I really do think that trying to battle cancer gives you pretty much a free pass to be a cranky ***.   I know that as a woman, I might have more respect for her if she came out, guns a'blazing about him publically.  But if she's keeping the bitchy under wraps for their own private world and the people in it, I don't think I'm going to judge her for it, given what she's going through.

After 20+ years of matrimony her douche DH decides to have a personal fling with a hoe.  THEN Liz finds out she gets terminal cancer, then finds out DH has been screwing around before and during this time.  Sorry but I'd be a raging b*tch too.

Ditto vvcake.  I don't think cancer gives you the right to be a jerk to all people.  It's not just her husband that she was a biatch to, at least according to the NYT article.  That article was saying it was aides who were her targets.

Also, I would respect her more without the book, the book tour, etc.  I mean, if you want to retain some privacy and dignity, do away with the book tour.  He is a major jackhole, but she also chose to spend her last months/years with her children on a book tour, continuing to be in the news for this business, etc.  I think it's possible she is not the saint or martyr she's been painted as.  No excuses for him, but I don't think being cheated on and/or having cancer gives you a free pass, either.
