Hi Girls,

  I'm Ilisabete, I'm new to this board and this site, I had been on the knot before,  I'm not pregnant yet, but we are thinking about it, and thought I should start prepairing myself. I have Carefirst BlueChoice HMO.   I was just wondering if you girls had any recommendations for good adult Primary Care Doctors in the area (I'm in the Rockville/ Silver Spring area),  good OB/GYNs,  and good labor and delivery hospitals.   I've heard Silbley Hospital is good for having babies. Any recs or opinions would be helpful. Thanks for the help girls!

Check Capitol Women's Care - they have offices in Rockville and Silver Spring. I went to the office attached to Holy Cross (where I delivered) and really like Dr. DeQuattro and Sheila Bennett, the midwife. Holy Cross has the most deliveries in the DC area, and I was happy with my experience there.

I second Holy Cross.  I had a very good experience there.  As for doctors, I have Kaiser so I am not of much use to you there.

I really liked Sibley. I went to Reiter and Hill, who deliver there and have offices both in downtown DC and Chevy Chase. It's a huge practice, so some people complain about it feeling impersonal, but I liked all of the doctors there except one, so I didn't have a problem with it being a little bigger.

If you live in MoCo, Holy Cross is a very good hospital - why would you want to drive all the way to Sibley?

I have the same insurance as you - my PCP isn't taking new patients right now, so I'm no help there. For OB/Gyn I go to the CWC office at Georgia and Dennis. My favorite is Dr. Sine, but I have also seen Dr. Resta, Dr. Lizardo and Dr. Band and liked them all.

I also go to Capital Women's Care on Shady Grove Rd. and think it is a pretty good practice.  Some of the doctors there are considered to be the best OBGYNs in the area.  I delivered at Holy Cross and DS spent 27 days in the NICU there.  We had a really great experience there and felt well taken care of - especially DS.  The NICU there is incredible, but hopefully, you won't need them.  I have friends that have delivered at Sibley and liked it.  Most of the moms in my play groups delived at Shady Grove and also had a good experience there.
