Stomach virus ?: Blood in vomit

My son had a really bad stomach virus last weekend, we ended up taking him to the ER because there was some blood mixed in with his vomit. The docs didn't make that big of a deal about it, even though I kept stressing that it was very alarming to me. My son felt better almost right away (after getting an IV to rehydrate) and we were sent home. He never had a fever, no diarrea (sp), just bad vomiting for about 12 hours before we took him to the ER. Has anyone else's child ever had blood in their vomit?

Never had that issue but I sure as hell hope baby boy gets fixed up soon.  I'm sure that can't be a good thing.
