your wedding rings?

I was originally thinking that I wanted to save them for dd,now I'm second guessing it.

Wondering what everyone else did/is doing.

 

I don't even know what they are worth. Maybe I should have them cleaned and apraised and then make up my mind. Lol.

Honestly, I haven't even thought about it.  I haven't worn it in so long, I'm not really sure where it is.  I know its not worth much, so I can't sell it.  I'll probably save it for Pumpkin.

I'm keeping them.  I even have STBXH's.  

 I was going to do something with them, but after talking with my bestie/cousin, she told me how hurt she was to find out that her mom had pawned her wedding ring after her parents' divorce.   That kindof stuck with me, therefore I am keeping them.

 

Of course, it would be more sentimental perhaps if I had a girl, but I suppose I will keep them for L just the same.  Maybe he will pawn them for a down payment on something one day.

I am going to sell them.

I don't have a daughter, so I never thought about saving them.  But even if I did, I don't think I would want to give them to her.  They are pretty meaningless to me now.

This is why I was starting to second guess it. It's not as if I think they are cursed...but our  marriage failed, and why would she want a reminded of that?

I guess I will save them and wait until my feelings are not the way they are to make a decision.

I also "bought" my own rings on credit cards I opened for him (engagement, wedding band and baby band) so I am taking them back to the place we bought them at and having it all designed into something else.  All the rings have tiny stones all the way arround and the engagement ring has a pretty big diamond in it so I have a lot to work with.

I put them away with all the other jewelry XH gave me for our daughter when she was older.   We had a home robbery several years after and almost everything was stolen.

I actually lost mine LAST January. I have no idea what the H did with his.

Mine are worth a good bit of money and I paid for them myself (it was an upgraded set, but I paid for the original set too). I have tried to sell them but what I was doing wasn't working. If I can get half what they are worth I will sett the set.

This post is cracking me up because no one's story is so crazy as mine....further proof that I have the biggest Douchebag ex.  So right away he started bugging me about my engagement ring (never had a band because we didn't get around to that). The ring is appraised at $9K and it is over 2 carats so it is pretty substantial.  I couldn't figure out why he wanted it so bad considering the divorce was HIS fault but I kept it at my parents for safekeeping.  I took it to work with me one day because one of our advisors deals in gold and coins and I needed some advice about how to sell it, how much to expect to get, etc.  Then I got into it with his mom over Thanksgiving and she told me that SHE had paid for the ring and it was still on her credit card.  Since it was still in my purse I took it out and just gave it to her.  I didn't want her holding that over my head.  She started blubbering about how she just wanted us to get back together and didn't really want the ring and I said, "well that's not happening so you might as well take the ring".  In hindsight I wish I still had it to sell but at the same time I am glad I gave it back to her so she couldn't use it against me.  Pretty sure that XH got to be the way he is because of his idiot mother....or at least partially because of her.  She's a real gem.

I kind of wish I had kept mine to sell and put the money into a college savings fund for DS. But the morning I found out about the cheating, I left and drove up to my mothers house and along the way I tossed it out the window when I was crossing over a bridge. A little dramatic now I guess but at the time I wanted absolutely nothing to do with it.
