IVF?

I am reading about IVF on my RE's web page and it says that they do the ER in their office under "conscious sedation." I thought that you were usually put under for ER? Does anyone else's RE do it this way? What was it like? TIA

That's typical. You will be out & won't know what's going on.

My RE told us they use something called Twilight Sleep. I got the impression that it puts you to sleep where you don't remember anything but you don't need breathing tubes and what not.

However, I did not get the impression that sparkly, hot vampires would be involved. lol

That's typical. In fact, my first IVF I was really loopy, but aware of my surroundings and the conversations I was having. I pretty much talked the ears off of the nurses and anesthesiologist.

That's what they call it when you're under anesthesia but you can still breathe on your own. A deeper level of sedation would require a breathing tube. You go to sleep and when you wake up it's all over

damn! That would make it so much better! Do you think the vamps are available at an additional charge like ICSI??

Yep, "conscious or procedural" sedation with Fentanyl and Versad at my RE's office. Versad is the amnesia drug so you won't even remember it!!

I think they had an oxygen mask on me, but I never saw it.  Where I "go" (since I will be going back) they use propofol and fentanyl. 

I LOVED it!   I felt myself fall asleep in procedure room. Woke up in recovery with my husband next to me. Apparently we had been talking for 5 min and I though I had just woken up.
