11w tomorrow and itching for another u/s

Im really driving myself crazy. I want to have another u/s so bad so I can see what the baby looks like now. Our 1st u/s was at 7w6d which was wonderful, but when I go to the dr next week I will be 12w so I could only imagine the difference!

I know every dr office is different, but does anyone have a 2nd u/s scheduled before their BIG one?

Are you doing the NT Scan?  That involves an u/s.  Other than that, unless you have issues, most docs don't do another u/s until the big one.  Some people don't even get an early u/s and the only u/s they get is the big u/s.

My OB will only do an ultrasound if they see a problem.  Based on cramping and my prior miscarriage, I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks.  If I never had that issue, I probably wouldn't have one until 20 weeks.

That's what I thought. I know we were pretty lucky to have the 1st u/s done. I'm not having the NT scan done, so I'm sure the next u/s will be the Big one. Thanks!

How about a first?  I'm really shocked by how many get multiple US and take for granted that many women only get one, at 20 weeks.  I would love an extra one, and I might bring it up when I see my family dr next week for our son's checkup, but I highly doubt I'll get one.

I actually know someone who didn't even get the 20 week one.  Her insurance gave her heck, and after 3 healthy babies, she decided she was okay with skipping it.

We had one at 8w2d and don't get another one until 20w - I'm so with you at being curious and would love the opportunity to see my babies again before then!!
