SCH and cramping... anyone else

Are there any other ladies out there that have been diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage and have very unpleasant cramping to go along?  I just need to know that I'm not totally alone here.  It seems like I'll be okay for a couple of days at a time, then I get a heavy bleeding episode accompanied by uncomfortable cramping.  I know that with SCH this is to be expected but I can't help but feel scared.

Re: SCH and cramping... anyone else

  • I was diagnosed with subchorionic Hematoma last week.  I have spotted a total of three times.  All three times I spotted bright red but it was only when I would wipe.  I went for 4 ultrasounds before they diagnosed me with SCH.  I haven't had any cramping or heavy bleeding.  Mine is just outside of my cervix and is very small.  Did they tell you where yours is located and how big?  My doctor told me most clots resolve on their own by 20 weeks.  Usually your body either bleeds itself out or the body absorbs it.  However he said there is a chance I may spot the entire 40 weeks.  I know it is SCARY!   I never had any problems with DD.  My doctor has told me again and again that everything will be fine plus the location of mine will have no impact on the baby.  I know it is scary but hang in there and trust your doctor.

  • I also have a SCH.....I'm 10 weeks now, but my spotting/bleediing was at 9 weeks....I totally freaked and thought I was having a m/c.  I went to an u/s and they found it.....I also had a cramp before I started bleeding, but I haven't had any since and no more bleeding......my doc just said to take it easy, pelvic rest, etc.  I've also heard try not to get your heart rate up bc its increases circulation to the clot.  It's not terrible if you are bleeding bc it could mean the clot is working itself out, but I'd call the doc if its a lot of blood + cramping.  Good luck, T&P are with you....I know it can be very scary.  I think about it allllllll the time. Just rest rest rest.
  • I have one as well, i've been spotting since week 7. I only got diagnosed with it last week.  I've had only spotting when I wipe, nothing more than that, I'm also not sure on how big mine is or where it is in relation to the baby I didn't know enough at the time of the u/s to ask that stuff, but they did say if you are bleeding and cramping to call to be on the safe side. Also I was told total pelvic rest, no lifting, etc...
