I have cervical stenosis (tight cervix) that is also crooked and it just means that it will always be difficult to get that stinkin' catheter in for my IUIs. The Dr. assured me it had nothing to do with my IF, since if AF can get out, then the sperm should be able to get in.
Married 08.06 Started TTC 05.08 Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH DH: perfect 1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p 2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!
Beautiful Miracle Baby lost at 21 weeks due to pre-term labor and incompetent cervix. FET#1 BFN, FET#2 BFP, early loss. FET#3 BFN. IVF#2 BFFN. FET #4 BFP after removing bilateral hydrosalpinx and 3 months of lupron depot. Sticky Bun is here!!
Mine was hidden and pointing to the side and just basically does not stay put! But the doc said that does not affect IF and nor will it affect treatments or a vaginal birth. Like the PP said - maybe just a little harder to get the catheter in.
I also just found out that I have cervical stenosis. The RE could not get the catheter to pass during my SHG. I actually am going back in today with the help of some Valium to let him try again. He said it was just my anatomy - that everyone is different. I have heard it can make embryo transfer more challenging - but there are lots of women on here that have had the same with successful IUI's and IVF's. I may know more about it after today....
Good luck!

According to my RE I have a very narrow "twisty curvy" cervix. Yup, that's what he said. He said I could have surgery to correct it but there really is no need bc they can ultimately get the catheter in. Although its very difficult and can be painful. I just don't think its worth surgery for me.

Re: Narrow Cervix
It might not mean anything.
