steroid shot side effect :(

I totally forgot about how my body reacts to steroids until now.

Tonight:

It's 2 am and I am up and wired from my 11 am steroid injection.  Cannot sleep.  At all.  (I am normally asleep at 9 pm and sleep until 6 am.)

This sucks!

Can't wait to get another injection in 8 hours...  

 

Did you guys experience this, too, or am I a freak?!

I've not had steroid shots, but being wired is a common side effect of steroids (oral or injected).  You're definitely not a freak!

I hope you were able to get some sleep.

I got a whopping ONE hour of sleep; from 5 to 6 am.  Ugh.  And now I feel like crap today.  Man, steroids do a number on me.

I got my shots at the same time I was starting Procardia, so I was just antsy and anxious.  Talk about a double whammy   So sorry you didn't get much sleep.  I got 4 solid hours for the first time in I don't know how long last night, and it felt sooooo amazing.  Sorry, I had to brag just a bit...it was very exciting!!  Hope you can get some rest soon!

I felt like a coke head. The terbutiline has the same effect on me, makes me shake like crazy and my heart pounds.

I had my shots at the hospital after starting strict bedrest (after some mag and while starting procardia, too)  I was prescribed ambien to help me sleep.  Not sure if it was strictly due to the steroids or just because of all I was going through.  I didn't know if I wanted the ambien, but it was a great help for a good night's sleep.

I hated that feeling. they gave me ambien and benedraly in the hospital and I still didn't fall asleep.
