I tested high on my 1 hour test and going for my 3 hour in a week. Regardless of results, I want to put myself on a healthy diet/eating pattern for the last 3 months of pregnancy. My mom had GD with me which developed into diabetes she still has today. Im willing to eat/avoid whatever I need to for healthy pregnancy. Please advise. Thanks
Re: what is GD diet?
It really depends on how well your body can work with carbs. My initial numbers from the nutrionist was 30 carbs per snack (three times a day) and 60 carbs per meal (three times a day). For some girls, this is way to high so they have to lower their carb intake. If you do fail the 3 hour, and need to start testing, you'll learn very quickly what your body can handle.
Happy to help with any other questions!
