DH thinks I am crazy, he thinks a "first step" isn't wobbly and she should be balanced in order for it to count. I think that if she propels from the couch and lunges at me with one or two steps, that counts!! She is trying SO hard, she is moving from furniture really quickly now and will take a step or two with one arm on the couch, then no arm and then fall onto me. I want it to count!!

Re: What counts as "first steps"?
They totally count!
Try balancing her just standing all by herself not holding anything in the middle of the room and see if she will lift one foot off the ground. Then she is balanced and moving her foot, then he will be happy too
She is absolutely taking steps and being balanced then. Tell your DH it has been confirmed, lol.
I agree with you - "first steps" are when they first let go of something and take a step without holding onto anything. I didn't call Liam a walker until he was really walking unassisted well (like from one end of the room to the other), but first steps were several weeks before that.
Go Jocelyn!
