Update on Aiden

He is doing great! He has a PDA that he started on medication to close on Friday and today his murmur is almost non existent. He will have another ECG done tomorrow to see what it is looking like. Today he came off the ventilator!! I was so excited as it was unexpected. We were told that he probably wouldn't come off until we were sure what was going on with the PDA. Most people wouldn't be excited about hearing their baby cry but I was ecstatic! He no longer has to sit under the light for jaundice as it has cleared up. Things are looking up for my little guy!

Tomorrow we also get the results for his 6 day ultrasound of his brain checking to make sure there is no fluid being retained in his head. They should also be removing his lines in his belly button and adding either a central or a pique(sp) line. I may get to hold him in the next couple of days!!!! He also will get to start eating (tube fed) and all this marathon pumping I have been doing with finally come in handy.

This has been a fantastic day and I hope my gushing makes sense lol!

A small start at 2lb 9oz, 60 day NICU stay, and 6 months of O2 My 30 weeker is growing up! <a href="http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j320/bippy798/?action=view

That's great news!! lol I can totally relate to the crying thing. I was super excited when I first heard him cry. He cried because did not like the cold wipe so he wasn't hurting or anything. It was neat to hear something from him...

Hang in there. Aiden is definitely a fighter. He's working hard to come home to mommy. :)

  • That IS great, congrats!  And I remember the first time I heard Sophie cry thru the isolette, it was like a lil kitten.

  • Congrats to Aiden!! I know EXACTLY how you feel! My little Bella has been hospitalied at Riley for almost two weeks, with a heart condition! Thankfully she is doing well also. When she came off the Vent, and we could hear her cry it was one of the greatest days ever for me also! She has been taking steps on bottle feeding again here the last day or so becuase she also has had a feeding tube since she has came to the hospital. She has a picque line in right now in all honesty! They couldn't get her centrel line in, so the did the pique. Which I kinda like better bc they were doing her centrel line in her foot, where as the picque is up under her collar bone. :)  But anyway! I will keep Aiden in my thoughts and prayers and hope he gets out soon! Stay strong mom! I still have mini break downs even though she's been doing well. All normal from what I have been told..lol Good luck!!!
