High-Risk Pregnancy

Anyone in the Boston area?

I am 12 weeks pregnant. I have not been diagnosed as high-risk yet, but I do have a tilted, bicornate uterus (though they can't tell how severe the septum is). I also have had 4 cases of bleeding - 2 with some minimal spotting at 6 and 7 weeks, and 2 very heavy bleeds at 10 and 11 weeks - that no one seems to know the cause of. Finally, I've had one m/c previously. I'm this close to looking for a new doctor, not b/c I don't like mine, but I don't feel she's being as proactive as I'd like. Can you recommend yours? TIA.

  • I see Dr. Thomas McElrath at the Brigham (high risk OB).  I like him and all the staff is good.

I go to Harvard Vanguard in Wellesley.

  • I go to Dr. Takoudes (tah-koo-dess) at Beth Isreal Deaconess in boston. She has alot of diabetic patients but im pretty sure she also handles other high-risk cases. But if not, there are a couple of other high-risk OBs in that practice
  • I used Dr. Platek with Harvard Vanguard.  She was great.  She was bright and very personable.

I also see Dr. Platek and agree that she is a great doctor.  You can also see her out of Brigham.
