I just got "Touchpoints 3-6" and am only 60 pages into it, but already I'm reminded of how much I appreciate his perspective. I loved the "Touchpoints 0-2" and read it cover-to-cover many times when DD was a baby. But it had been a while and she had definitely outgrown most of the topics covered in the book, so we upgraded.
Now that the 3s are fast approaching with a whole new set of challenges, it's so reassuring to read the reasons why she's acting the way she does, and some reminders to ask what is the best way to teach her how to control herself. I knew that she would start acting more defiant and willful, it's just weird to see it happening in your own kid!
Like I said, I just started the book tonight, but so far I'd definitely recommend it!
Re: I PPH T. Berry Brazelton
Thanks for the rec! I am going to my library's website to see if they have it right now.....
ETA: I'm reading "How to Talk So Kids Will Listen, and Listen So Kids Will Talk" right now. I'm only about half way through. It has some good advice, but it seems like most of it might be geared for an older age group. There have only been a couple of examples for toddlers. Most of it is a better fit for school age children, or at minimum a 4 or 5 year old. At least so far.
I read their book on sibling rivalry and found it to be VERY helpful!
I love Dr. B.
I also liked all the other books suggested!
