Baby Names

Middle name for Duncan?

I am expecting my second and I (obviously) don't know what I'm having yet but we have already started tossing names around. We both really like Duncan for a boy but I can't for the life of my think of a good middle name!

I'm the kind of person who uses the middle name frequently (our DS is Carter Bradley and I say it all of the time) so I want something I really love. Any ideas?

  • i love the name Duncan.  what about Charles, Thijs (Tice), Edward, William, Andrew?
  • Hines?

    Oh sorry, I'm just hungry!

I'd go with a fairly "standard" name since Duncan is kind of unusual.

I bet she's never heard that before!

  • Maybe not. I hadn't thought of it until she said Hines.

This was what I thought of first, too!  LOL

I owuld stick with something "normal" and no youneek spellings either.  I think one syllable would be best too depending on your last name.

    PAL/PGAL Welcome

  • I like the suggestion of James. James sounds good with so many first names.
  • I would go with James too.
  • Our 1st choice for a boy is Duncan Bradley, but since Bradley is already your DS's middle name...

    Duncan James

    Duncan Gregory

    Duncan Samuel

    Duncan Joshua

    Duncan Matthew

  • I read the post aloud to DH, and we both said James at the same time! He also suggests Jacob. :-)
  •  In case you wanted some different ones:

Duncan Mitchell, Duncan Hunter, Duncan Carson, Duncan Marshall, Duncan Fletcher, Duncan Emory.

  • James is the first thing that popped in my head.

  • I am so happy to see all the positive responses for Duncan on here.

I am due having b/g twins and our boy is going to be named Duncan Alexander.

We love the name and my mom was really rude about it when I slipped up and mentioned his name to her a few weeks back!

Duncan James was our other contender :)
