Two Under 2

Anyone due on/near your LO's birthday?

I am due on Josie's birthday, and I know this a bit premature, but I am wondering when to have her 2nd birthday party. She came 3 weeks early, so I am thinking about celebrating a month early, just in case. Also, I would rather not be the biggest I will get and have to entertain family/friends. I am thinking about doing it early, rather than after her actual birthday, because I would rather not have 40 or so people over and wanting to hold my newborn. Just curious what others are doing...TIA!

  • Not me, but my friend had her children almost 2 years apart. She had her DD's birthday about a month before her actual birthday. Unfortunately, my friend went into labor that very day and had to miss her DD's 2nd birthday. She was in the hospital delivering her DS.........

  • I am due 4 days after DS 2nd bday. DS was 10 days late so I'm guessing I'll go late but who knows. I'll probably shoot to celebrate a couple weeks early.

  • I was due with DS on July 9th and DD's birthday is July 16th.  We had her birthday party on June 20th and DS was born June 29th.

Since she was turning one, we figured it didn't make any difference to her when we had her party.  We went out for dinner and ice cream with her grandparents on her actual birthday.

  • DS is due 4 days after DD#2's birthday, but I tend to go early.  It's only a few weeks away, but we're still trying to decide what to do.  I know I'll bring cupcakes or cookies into DD#2's preschool class the day after her birthday if I'm not in the hospital.  We've tentatively planned her party for two weeks after her birthday on the 13th, but I haven't ordered invites or anything yet.  Worst case, we'll just have her party a month or more late.  My biggest concern is having everyone (especially lots of kids) in the house in the middle of cold/flu season with a newborn.  I know they would all be wanting to play pass the baby and I'm not comfortable with that so that adds to the complications, but we'll deal with that as it comes.
  • We are due a week before.  We will be lucky to get moved into our new house so I am thinking about just having my sister and her 3 boys over for a pizza for dd's b-day...feed them a cupcake and send them home.
  • I am due a month before my son's 2nd b-ady.  we are going to try to have my sons birthday on his bday just have family over really small and do pizza since the baby will be so tiny.  m y mom will probably do most of it.  we will also play it by ear, if i dont feel great yet or the baby is not doing tooo well we will post pone.
  • DS's birthday is 9/4 and this baby is due 8/22. I'm having a repeat c-section though so delivery will probably be closer to 8/15. I'm not sure what we're going to do about celebrating 2nd birthday.

  • My due date for this baby is the same as my due date for DS.  I think we'll probably do his party two weeks before his b-day since I'll be 36wks then.
