Two Under 2

peeking in from 1st trim - curious

Hi, just super curious about you ladies who planned for 2U2.  Was age a factor at all?  I know it's kinda of counting my "chickens" before they hatch, but if all goes well with this pregnancy, we are thinking of TTC#2 at about 1 year.

Any sage words of advice?  I know I can wait longer, but I'll be almost 31 with this pregnancy and just thought 32/33 would be good for kid 2.

His family is nearby, and we both have good jobs and already own a (3 bdroom + study) home.  Ideally, I will go back to work until kid 2 then probably take awhile off.

  • Age wasn't a factor for us.  I'm 27 and DH is 26.  We knew we wanted our kids close together.  Before DS was born we were thinking of TTC in the summer and our kids would be approx 2 1/2 years apart.  After DS was born we decided we would like them closer together and I never went back on BCP.  You have to do whatever works well for your family.

  • Yes.  Age and infertility.

We knew before DS #1 was conceived that if we were ever lucky enough to get pregnant the first time we'd be weaning early to TTC again.

Then our OB and RE both suggested that we hurry back if we wanted another and that cinched it for us.

    Advice?

Set a plan just don't be afraid to revisit it or change it once you see what it's really like.

We originally planned to wean at 6 months and when it came I just couldn't do it.  By 8 months I was ready.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
