Ok so baby had a strict talking to after my ultrasound on Tuesday. Baby isn't allowed to grow so much anymore. Baby's weight is measuring 5 lb. 11 oz. Yes that is 5 lb. 11 oz for 32 weeks and a few days. I got the GD diagnosis at 28 weeks and my sugars have been good since. The MFM said even though your sugars two hours after meals are great, my fasting was fine too (he wants to see under 100, where dietician said under 90, I only hit that three times after I started glyberide). So since baby is so big, I know have to take insulin at bedtime along with the glyberide. I also have to check now one hour instead of two. Some of my one hours are higher than the 130, 132-140ish (the rest are below). I know there's a possibility of taking insulin before meals too. All my fastings are under 100 even with insulin.
So basically after the appointment with the MFM I had my appointment at the OB. I saw a midwife and we went over everything that the MFM said 1/2 hour earlier. I asked since the MFM said about needing a c/s and she's like no, we would like you to try vaginally if possible. I said can we take baby sooner than later (given the estimate that MFM said 9-10 pounder) if there is no c/s and she said we'll see what all the results of the twice weekly AFI and NST checks are. MFM also talked about the shoulders getting stuck and frankly if that's a possibility I want a c-section.
Someone please tell me baby went through a big growth spurt and will slow down. I highly doubt I'll even make the end of Feb. now. Oh I should mention the last u/s was on Dec. 1st and baby was right on track at 2 lb. 3 oz. So that's a 3 lb 8 oz gain in 6 weeks. If you had a baby measuring bigger but then get back on track please reassure me! Thanks!

Re: Panicked...GD related
At my first u/s after I found out I had GD - I was 28 weeks & the baby was over 4lbs. He was in the 80%. My doctor told me THAT'S what really matters, what %-tile he falls into.
At this point, I will be induced before my due date, because he is over 50%. If he reaches 90%, then we will talk c/s. Mainly because at that point I will have to worry more about shoulder dysplasia.
Well, I had my next growth u/s this past Wednesday - the diet really has been helping & he is now in the 66%! I will have another u/s next month on 2/10. That will make the final call for setting up being induced or the c/s.
My GD diet has help slow him down, and that made me happy!
GL with everything, but know that it is possible for him to slow down a bit!!
ETA: that at 66% -- he is weighting about 5.5 lbs. I'm in my 33rd week.
