So our boys name is Blake. But we also like it for a girl the first time around.
I however loved the name Ashlyn and we both sort of agreed that Blake although a super cute name needs a girl that fits it.
I love Ashlyns name and think it fits her perfectly but I think she could of definately pulled off Blake too.
I like the way Blakely makes it sound more girly, but then again I dont really care for the way it looks spelled out and I think its too "cutesy" for a grown woman.
We were leaning towards Allison "Allie" for a girl, but I just dont know I am sorta really liking Blake for a boy or a girl.
What do you think?
Re: The name Blake, or Blakely for a girl
I think Blake or Blakely is adorable for a girl! And, I don't feel like Blakely is too cutesy...maybe if you spelled it "Blakelie" or "Blakeli" or something equally atrocious
. Even if you called Allison "Allie", I feel like that's too close to Ashlyn.
Do you like double names? You could go with Anna Blake, Elizabeth Blake, Sara Blake, etc...and if she doesn't end up seeming like much of a Blake, you could just call her by the first name?
I agree with this
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
I'm not a fan of Blake or Blakely for a girl, but I don't think it's awful or anything.
I also think that Alison or Allie is awfully close to Ashlyn. Sorry, I'm just a-rainin' on your parade. Lol
I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAY! DON'T USE IT! I REMEMBERED WHY IT SOUNDED FAMILIAR!
DO NOT USE THIS NAME!
well, Blake is ok. But not Blakely.
I actually don't mind Blake for a girl. However, Blakely makes it sound like you're trying *way* too hard.
I've always loved the name Allison!
