Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

if you were pg and applying for a new job...

...when would you tell them you were pregnant?

Re: if you were pg and applying for a new job...

  • When I had a written offer letter in my hand, I'd tell them I was pregnant and would need __ weeks of maternity leave in order to be able to accept.

  • If the "you" in this scenario is you and you are only 5 weeks pregnant, I wouldn't tell them at all.  Maybe that is bad, but honestly you don't need to shoot yourself in the foot.  You can easily tell them in two more months once you are working and say oh crap, this wasn't planned and I am so sorry to inconvenience you, but hey isn't this great!?

  • not until I started my job.
  • I wouldn't.  Last job I took, I found out I was pregnant my second week on the job.  Oops.  They were awesome about it.  And even though I didn't qualify for FMLA they let me take 10 weeks maternity leave.
