inhaling paint thinner fumes

My downstairs neighbor is having construction done in their apartment.  When I got home a little bit ago, my apartment stinks of paint thinner fumes.  I'm in the back room of our apt. where it doesn't smell so bad, but I'm worried about inhaling these fumes.  Any thoughts?  (I am leaving in about an hour and will be out of the apt. for a few hours tonight).

  • If it is indeed paint thinner those fumes are toxic and it is not recommended that you be near them.  I did a lot of reading on painting fumes and paint thinners and stains were some of the most dangerous to be around.  Do you have a friend you could stay the night with?
