High-Risk Pregnancy

GD= less movement??

Hi all!  I am just a little concerned because the last couple of days, my LO seems to have been moving less.  I've also noticed that my blood sugar numbers have finally started to drop to where they need to be.  I'm wondering... does the smaller amount of sugar affect her movement?  I can kind of understand that when there was a lot of sugar it would make her be really active, and now that there's less, maybe she calmed down.  But I don't know if that's "scientifically" the case, and if I should be worried.

Thanx!

Re: GD= less movement??

  • It's possible, but they are also a little calmer during/before major growth spurts. Maybe they are just gearing up? Mine was really quiet for a week or so and now she is back to crazy hard movements! Call your doctor if it seems like you haven't felt anything all day. GL! :)

  • Not for me. He moves around more now than ever before.

  • I would give doc a call NOW. Better be paranoid than sorry

    Waiting or a day with no movement as was suggested is absurd. This is a high-risk pregnancy board, for God's sake!  I have lost a baby-girl at 34 weeks - should have went straight to the ER the same day when there was a decrease in movement instead of 'wait and see' approach... my excuse was that i did not feel well ( thought i was coming down with ah bad cold ) and did not imagine something could go wrong when my usually over-active baby suddenly slowed down.

  • I think putting in a call to the doc is win/win.  Either you will be able to get the jump on a potential problem, OR you'll be reassured by professionals and be able to relax a bit.

    I haven't personally noticed a decrease in movement since the new diet, but don't worry too much.  Just call to be safe.
