What does a day of meals consist of for you ladies that have GD?  I go in for my 3 hour test on Monday and yes, I have been lurking!

Re: GD and meals

  • I only got diagnosed last week, so I'm still figuring stuff out, but so far my eating day looks like this:

Breakfast: Special K Protein Plus w/skim milk and a few dried cranberries thrown in. Morning snack: grapes or an apple and a babybel cheese Lunch: whole wheat pita w/cheese and hummus and veggies or organic tomato soup and a toasted cheese (w/Weight watchers low carb wheat bread). Afternoon snack: veggies and peanut butter or cottage cheese w/pineapple. Dinner: chicken or pork with veggies sweet potato. Evening snack: SF pudding or SF ice cream.

If you look through some older posts, there's lots of great tips on shopping lists and menus.  I hope you pass your three hour, but if not, it's not the worst thing in the world!

  • Breakfast (these are various breakfasts I do)

Eggs with a piece of toast with Sugar free Jam

    or

Cheerios with 1/2 cup of skim milk

    Or

Yogurt (16 carbs in the one I eat) with a piece of toast   I should mention I buy Home Pride Wheat bread and it has LESS carbs then the LOW CARB bread that tasted like ass.

    Lunch

    Progressive soup  Vegtable and Penne

    or

    Salad with cut up chicken

    Dinner

Taco Night (Low carb wraps, with chicken, tomotoe, lettuce, salsa and hot sauce )

    or

    Chicken with broccoli

    Or

    Big cup of Chilli

    or

     Hamburgs and sweet pototoe fries

    or

    salad with cut up chicken.
