Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I will make sure that my DS knows how to....

I did this post yesterday and forget this 1 super important thing.

I will make sure that DS knows how to dance. Not booty grinding body flailing dance, but he will learn how to waltz or mambo or swing or whatever.

My parents danced (country and ballroom), I danced (latin and ballroom) and I think it's awesome when a guy knows how to take his lady and at least do the basic steps to a structured dance.

  • Amen! We all dance in my family and DH learned. So much fun! We dance with the girls every Saturday morning after pancakes.

  • DH and I met ballroom dancing.  Those are our date nights; however, there is literally no place in this town for us to dance.  We want both of our sons to also learn how to ballroom.  A girl loves a guy who can dance and I think a guy being able to do some basic steps makes him more of gentleman.

    That's adorable!

  • YES!!  I hate the my DH won't dance with me.  He knows some swing but that's it.  I've tried telling him how hot it is when a guy knows how to dance...but he still won't do it.  Sad

If we have a son, I want him to know how to dance too!!!

  • True. There's nothing worse than when a guy doesn't know how to dance and just stands there looking awkward.

I didn't respond to your post yesterday, but its very important to me that my children be tolerant and compassionate toward people with differences (whether that be skin color, size, or special needs) I want them to have kind hearts for people.

Oh, and don't get ripped off on stupid credit cards with terrible interest rates!

  • My husband doesn't know it yet, but Joseph will be taking ballet. I won't care about him doing any other sport or activity, too, but he will take ballet for at least a year. I think it teaches you a lot about your body and gives you confidence.

  • I love to dance. Dh has some rhythm. DD and I dance all the time. I would want her to also meet a dancing man lol

  • YES!!!! that's fabulous. We want DD to learn how to do every kind of dancing. I grew up doing ballet then learned jazz, modern, etc. DH and I took swing lessons and I took ballroom dance classes in college for about 2 years and it was so fun seeing how many guys know how to waltz and tango! I think it's very important that men and women know how to dance-it's a dying art that's giving away to booty grinding and pelvic thrusting....

  • I totally agree!  My DH has taken several lessons with Arthur Murry and I know some basic steps.  I love that my DH likes to dance.  Weddings and other events are so much more fun.  I feel sorry for my girlfriends whose DHs refuse to dance.
