So, my Dr. is really getting on me to put on weight, and I was wondering if you ladies had any healthy snack suggestions? I already eat a lot of snacks like fruit, yogurt, whole wheat bagels, cheese, but I'm getting really tired of eating the same things day in and day out. Does anyone have any favorite snack items I could add to my list, preferably low-sugar? Thanks!

Re: Need healthy snack ideas
Hummus with veggies
apples with laughing cow cheese
I lived on cottage cheese when I was PG
My Blog
I like club crackers with laughing cow spreadable swiss cheese and turkey summer sausage.
I loved eating oatmeal for a snack when I was pregnant.
bananas, avacado, sweet potatoes are high in fat and yummy...personally I like "mexican food", quesidellas, nachos (with all the topings), burritos, tacos, enchilladas, then I like pizza and burgers....basically this PG lady just eats whatever her craving of the moment is and weight gain and loss (after nursing a year) are never a problem.
Wait...so you're doctor wants you to put on weight, right? I would suggest just buying the higher fat versions of what you're already eating, like drinking whole milk, eating full fat cheeses and higher fat content meats (if you're a meat eater), peanut butter, white bread instead of wheat, etc.
Or I could just give you some of my fat. You're welcome to as much as you need.
Unable to even.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm definitely planning to switch to 2% milk after we finish the current carton, and I will try and eat more meat, although it hasn't been too appetizing lately.
I'm curious if I'm the only PG gal who has major trouble with refined carbs? If I eat anything other than whole grain I get so backed up and miserable, TMI, I know, but that would make it a whole lot easier to find appetizing snacks!
Sliced granny smith apples and dip them in a mixture of almond butter and agave or honey or just straight almond butter (both are good)
My current favorite...non fat Haggen brand cottage cheese, blend until smooth, add Fiesta Mix packet or Ranch packet. Use as a dip for pretty much anything...carrots, sliced red, orange, or yellow peppers. Yum!
Dried cherries with no sugar added with almonds and 70% dark chocolate. It's like a mini picnic!

Then adding veggies will be good: cut up pepeprs, baby carrots, cucs, and keep them out so you are snacking all day. Dip in hummus, or a dip of low fat refried beans and salsa. Nuts, trail mix, dried fruit.
Edamame(costco has it in great little microwave bags) frozen blueberries in vanilla soy milk, microwave popcorn , frozen grapes, whole wheat pasta and some alfredo sauce, grilled cheese, lean pockets, pizza bites
I was about to respond "NO! Don't eat white bread!" hahaha! I definitely have that problem too. Nothing for me but whole wheat pasta, wheat bread and brown rice if I want any "carb" type food.
A yummy snack that I really like is vanilla (soy, cause I'm lactose intolerant) yogurt with granola and blueberries. It's like dessert, but healthier. Pita chips and hummus is always tasty too.
If you need to GAIN, you don't want to be eating the lowfat/nonfat versions of foods. You need to up your fat intake, but make it healthy fats:
Avocado, peanut butter, bananas, full fat cottage cheese, 2% or whole milk, cheese, olive oil, fatty fish like salmon, eggs, whole grain breads that are higher in calories (they are really easy to find), bagels, pasta, beans, protein shakes. All of these would be great additions to your diet.
