I just had a Dr's appt, won't have one again for almost 4 weeks.  I just came upon a fun looking parent/tot water class at the indoor pool at the local community college here.  No reason I shouldn't do it, right?  What about when I'm late in 3rd tri?  Still ok, yes?  It doesn't start until after my next appointment, so I can always ask the Dr next time.

My doc has told me that swimming/walking in a pool is a great exercise, especially in the 3rd tri. The weight of the water helps support the parts of you that get tired and saggy during the day... so I'd say go for it.

Should be totally fine. There are even pregnancy water arobics that people take in all stages of pregnancy. You will love how you feel in the water. Just dont go holding your breath for a long time!!

Totally go for it. Like pp said, the weight distribution in the water relaxes your muscles. I had a friend whose doc encouraged swimming to alleviate tension in her knees and back during 3rd tri. Enjoy!

as a former lifeguard who taught swim lessons and such I agree with the pp swimming is one of the better options for excersize during pregnancy because it aleviates all the pressure on your joints while you are in the water making it easier on your body I also have come across MANY times women in their third tri with only weeks till they are due swimming to help coax the baby out on time naturally (this only pertains to when you are like 37/38 weeks and your body is already gearing up for the birth of your child)
