The 2 coordinating SWAT teams haven't went in the house yet. They're still covering all their bases and securing exits. Once they go in the house, things will go fast. I still don't know if there is a hostage or not. The suspect and his wife were having a domestic dispute, which is why the police were called in the first place. The officer was shot in the neck w/ a rifle that was shot from inside the home as the police were exiting their vehicles. He never saw it comming.
J is off work, but he is sitting at the station with everyone else who is off, waiting for this to end. And I understand 100% why he feels the need to be there. I want to physically hug him so bad right now, but I can wait. He needs some closure with all this.
J is also not working tonight. He was scheduled to, but because of the situation, they made schedule changes. Of which I am incredibly grateful. I can hold him all night long if I want. Before the schedule change, I was seriously considering making him call me every 20 minutes for my piece of mind.
I can only imagine how the fallen officer's wife is feeling right now. Their children are a 9 year old boy and a 6 year old girl. That could have easily been me.

After multiple m/c's, a MTHFR diagnosis and the Lord calling both of our hearts in the same direction, we're adopting!
