Can you get Mucinex for a 3 yr old?

Ds has a wet cough. No other symptom. He is clearing his throat as well, so I know it's from mucus build up. I personally have never taken or bought Mucinex, but have heard it works.

Does it come in Children's form too?

Any other suggestions?

  • i'm pretty sure you can't find any cough meds for under 6 anymore.

  • Yes. Mucinex for kids. Children 2-6 years old- 1 packet every 4 hours. Or so my box reads.

    Thank you!

  • My Ped allows the children's version for my preschooler.  She is 4 now, but was using it last year.  Mucinex is awesome.  Works so well.
  • My doctor said no cold/cough meds until age 6, but has given us the ok to try some benedryl for those annoying coughs.

  • My dr said it was ok every 6 hours but to try benadryl and Delsym first to see if they worked.
