Those doing WW.. any good filling meals with low point recs?

I had lunch...a 5pt smart ones ravioli meal...I wish they would have thrown in some veggies in there... I would have loved some veggies in it...

It wasn't very fillings...   I would have brought with me some veggies if I knew this wasn't going to be filling. :-(

I am gnawing on my arm and some carrots right now....thinking of dinner time!

  • homemade minestrone! make a big pot on sunday to bring throughout the week. I made some for my MIL and SIL who are on WW and they said one bowl is probably 1 point. it has kidney beans as a base and has potatoes and any other fresh veggies you can find like carrots, celery, spinach, etc.

  • The 0 pt veggie soup...you can add chicken for an additional pt. This was my staple during my WW days:

    0 Point Garden Vegetable Soup

    Ingredients:

    2/3 cup sliced carrots

    1/2 cup diced onions

    2 garlic cloves, minced

3 cups fat-free broth (beef, chicken, or vegetable)

1 1/2 cups diced green cabbage

    1/2 cup green beans

    1 tbsp. tomato paste

    1/2 tsp. dried basil

    1/4 tsp. dried oregano

    1/4 tsp. salt

    1/2 cup diced zucchini

    Directions:

In a large saucepan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, saute carrots, onions and garlic over low heat for about 5 minutes. Add broth, cabbage, green beans, tomato paste, basil, oregano and salt, and bring to a boil. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for around 15 minutes or until beans are tender. Lastly, stir in the zucchini and continue to heat soup for 3-4 minutes. Enjoy!!

  • Today for lunch I had:

1  serving(s) La Tortilla Factory Low Carb Tortilla 1
1  serving(s) Butterball oven roasted deli turkey 2 oz. 1
    1  cup(s) spinach 0
    1  serving(s) Sargento RF Provolone 1 slice - Food I created 1
Fiber One Cottage Cheese 1/2 cup - Quick-added food 1
    1  small apple(s) 1
    1  serving(s) Cutie 0
    Subtotal 5

I wrapped the turkey, spinach, provolone in the tortilla, I put mustard on the tortilla first.  For the cottage cheese, I chopped up an apple, added a packet of splenda and some cinnamon.

I am a big fan of the Orowheat Sandwich thins.  I typically have open face sandwiches on them, I spread mustard on the sandwich thin, top it with tomato, spinach and mushrooms, lay a piece of reduced fat provolone on each side and stick it in the toaster oven until the cheese melts.  I leave it open faced so it seems like I have a lot more to eat.

A 6" Subway turkey sandwich is 5 points, no cheese, no mayo.

Gardenburger and mustard on a sandwich thin is 2 points.

I really like the WW yogurt, they are 1 point each.  Progresso makes soup that is 0-2 points depending on the size, but be careful, there are 2 servings in each can.

    Hope that helped!!

  • Soup!  Super filling and super low in points.  Salad and veggies are also good recommendations.  Sandwiches are pretty low in points (use sandwich thins, 97% fat free lunch meat, fat free cheese, honey mustard, etc.).

  • I remember Rosie ODonnell used to do a "Low Point Snacks" segment, and this one stuck with me: 1 Pt. BLT

2 pcs of low-cal bread (1 pt) with lots of lettuce and tomato, then Bac-Os! LOL You get the crunch, the salt and the bacon-y goodness with ZERO points! LOL

I LOVE BACOS!  I am going to have to try this!
