Hi popping over from 2nd tri to ask ....
for those who had to take the 3hr test for gd, did you change your diet the few days prior? The lab lady said no need to but I read all over about people eating extra carbs in the days before the test. Does anyone know why some dr's say to eat extra carbs and some dont?
thanks ladies ![]()

IUI #3 gave us the best 2nd anniv. gift ever: 2 babies! (born 03/09/10)

finally blogging again at This Will Be: An Adventure
I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour when I was pregnant with my son. I didn't have to change my diet at all.
However, my son ended up being very big (9lbs, 3 oz) a month early (born at 36 weeks) and he had glucose issues that are indicative of a GD baby. So even though I passed the 3 hour, I feel like maybe it was wrong. If some doctors say it's more accurate if you load up on carbs, then I would do that because it's sooo important to have it accurate. My son spent 4 days in the NICU unit as a result of the glucose issues (he couldn't regulate his blood sugar) and it was torture watching the nurse prick his heel every few hours to get the glucose readings. The nurses said his body would figure it out within a few days and he did- but I will do anything to avoid that again this pregnancy.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
Good luck tomorrow! And thanks to the pp who gave advice...I'll take any tips I can get. I want to be sure they catch it if it's there.
