Hi There, I think a whole lot of us have experienced it. I spotted from December 27th clear through to yesterday! I know, creepy, but it was always brown in color, no clots and no pain or cramping. I've had 3 u/s so far and the baby is growing right on schedule. My OB wants me to take it easy, but sees no reason to worry at this point. Since it finally stopped yesterday (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't come back!) I'm a little more relieved. Oh yeah, my m/s is subsiding as a bonus.
So, I wouldn't worry too much yet. Yes, it is bright red, but if you have no cramping or clots, you're probably still okay for now. It is a good idea to let your OB know as they may want want to check you out.

You're very welcome. Most everything I see on the internet is scary! It makes us all unnecessarily paranoid. But keep the faith, listen to your Doc and most importantly, listen to your body. If something doesn't feel right, always call your Doc, its why we have them!
I've been having brown spotting for about the last week and a half. I put a call into my OB and they said it was very common but doesn't mean I'm out of the woods just yet (comforting I know). They put me on pelvic rest until my appt. on Jan. 20th and brought me in for blood work to test my HCG levels. I should find out the results tomorrow.
I know it's hard but try not to worry and rest as much as possible. Definitely call your OB so they're aware of what is happening. Not to mention, speaking with your Dr. or a triage nurse will definitely put your mind at ease.
When I went to my u/s last week they told me that I had a blood clot on my uterus and that it wasn't anything to be concerned about but that I might notice some bleeding if it ruptures. It could be something like that because it hasn't caused me any pain.
