High-Risk Pregnancy

rising GD # ?

So my numbers have been very constant until today when they were all high. I ate the same as all the previous days. Should I call the doctor or just try to make some diet adjustments? I am afraid it is the hormonal jump or something! Has anyone else seen this trend?

TIA!

Re: rising GD # ?

  • I was told my the nutritionist that as we get further along in our pregnancies that our numbers will get higher.  I am noticing this week that the same meals I ate two weeks ago are giving me higher numbers.  My doctor is thinking about putting me on meds.  If they are jumping a bit, you may want to give your doctor a call.  Good luck!

  • I was told the opposite.  That my numbers would be the highest around 28 weeks (which is why they have you do the test at that point in the pregnancy) and would start to decline until you have the baby.  Granted, I haven't had any issues with my numbers at all and haven't had to change what I eat, but I would notice if they had increased.

Maybe wait until tomorrow to see if today's just a fluke and then call the doctor if they are still high?

  • Thanks for the input! After I posted this my breakfast after eating number was 65!!! Maybe my body is just being odd. I will watch for some trends. I don't like numbers around 140 it worries me!
  • Mine jumped around week 34 so in week 35 we increased my insulin doseages and now all is great.  Talk to your doctor and nutritionist.
