Some info from a 3 month mommy!

Take it or leave it but I would have loved to of known this:

I had a 7lbs, 4oz, 20 1/2" girl and she JUST grew out of her newborn clothes (mostly because of length) at 11lbs, 1oz, 23 1/2". She can still wear some of the pants if they don't have feet in them. Everyone said, "oh you won't need many newborn things!" But 3 months is a long time to need them, to me anyways!

She also JUST moved to size 1 diapers. Mostly for length again! The 1's are longer than the newborns so it prevents accidents from going up the back!

So if you are having an average sized girl, I'd stock up on newborn clothes and diapers!

Thanks! That is very much appreciated. I just got a ton of newborn, 0-3 clothes at my shower and everyone was telling me to return it all...I am thinking I am going to keep most of it.

dd stayed in nb clothes for 8 weeks and diapers even longer.  I have several for ds.

Regarding the diapers - my 12 day old - 8 pound baby boy just grew out of his newborn diapers. He fits perfectly into size ones! All babies are different!

That is why I said my "girl" and gave her stats so you would know what sized baby would be in newborns for awhile! Obviously that does not go for every baby!

 I know boys are entirely different! My cousin had an 11lbs baby that went straight to 1's and is on his way to 2's.

0-3 is generally ok. newborn stuff NEVER lasts long at all unless you have a preemie.
